Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH, Germany, was sold to
Blazic d.o.o., Ljubljana, Slovenia, on March 14th, 2011.
The world’s oldest manufacturer of veneer edges, Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH in 86877 Walkertshofen, Germany, was sold to Blazic d.o.o., Ljubljana, Slovenia, effective as of January 01st, 2011. Thus the intention having already been confirmed during the ZOW show is now legally binding.
The previous registered proprietor, Mrs. Frau Gudrun Krist, daughter of the inventor of veneer edges in continuous rolls, Mr. Armin Wiblishauser, who passed away on December 01st, 2010, has brought the plan to a close, which has been initiated already for quite some time.
As there is sufficient product information available about Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH and the veneer edges and the special veneer treatments produced by them, today both companies would like to inform about their shared future.
Blazic d.o.o. has a large commercial enterprise close to the city centre of Ljubljana, which also comprises a veneer edge production. For many years, they have been dealing in thick veneer edges, melamine resin edges and ABS edges as well. More than 500 decors of divers manufacturers are available (www.blazic.eu).
Outside of Slovenia, Blazic d.o.o. distributes goods by means of their own branch offices and commercial enterprises in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Macedonia. In addition to the extensive range of edges, they have all materials necessary for the furniture production and interior completion.
The purchase of Furwa has the purpose of systematically evolving the company Blazic d.o.o. and Furwa GmbH, and of the enterprise Furwa as an edge specialist and reliable partner for the industry and trade.
The synergies for both companies are attractive, because a mutual material exchange can take place, and thus Furwa can take hold of Blazic’s entire edge stock without any further effort.
From this, only advantages result for all customers and partners of Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH. Nothing will change regarding the familiar contact people. Blazic d.o.o. and Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH confirm together that nothing will change regarding the previous partnerships as well as regarding the relationships to customers and suppliers, even if new capabilities in development and possibilities arise now.
In the last 2 years, Furwa Furnierkanten GmbH had to suffer from a decline in sales and proved its ability to do justice to its old company’s slogan even in hard times. "We are able to do considerably more; however, we could live doing less." In 2011, this slogan will be concluded by "more" of products and also "more" of production and turnover. With the new owner the prerequisites are accomplished for that.
